Community Constables – Register Your Interest

If you are interested in finding out more about the role or how you can apply to become a Community Constable, then we encourage you to get in touch. You can email us or telephone 8204 2244 and ask for your details to be passed to our Community Constable Coordinator, who will contact you personally.
If your application is successful you will need to go through the selection process before being considered as a community constable. This will include:
Panel interview
The interview with members of South Australia Police gives you the opportunity to show that you have the qualities to succeed as a Community Constable. Your interview will take place in your local community and will cover areas such as leadership, decisiveness, problem solving, stress management and integrity.
Medical examination
This will be conducted by the Police Medical Officer and you must meet the necessary standard to undertake the duties of a Community Constable.
Psychology test
You will need to undertake a psychological assessment, which will be conducted by our police psychologist.
Final selection
If you reach a satisfactory standard in the interview tests and assessments, you may be considered for selection as a Community Constable. However, final selection will take into account all aspects of our selection process, including your character, background and fingerprint checks.
