Before you apply, why not carry out this quick self-assessment to help you confirm that this is the right move for you.

Am I an Australian Citizen or permanent resident of Australia?
Am I 18 years of age or older?
Did I successfully complete year 12 or have equivalent studies?
Do I hold an unrestricted or probationary class 'car' driver's licence?
Do I have experience in driving both manual and automatic vehicles?
Have I been reported for a serious traffic offence?
Have I been the subject of any criminal charges?
Do I hold a current Basic (or Essential) First Aid Certificate?
Can I type at a minimum speed of 26 wpm at 96% accuracy or above?
Do I have a good working knowledge of the basic functions of Windows XP and Microsoft Word?
Am I Medically and Physically fit?
Is my eyesight at a minimum of 6/9 in each eye either with or without visual aids?
Do I have an injury or disability that could prevent me from performing operational policing duties?

  • A passport size colour photograph of yourself
and copies of your:
  • Year 12 results and Student Achievement Record
  • Resumé
  • Birth or citizenship certificate
  • Driving licence
  • Current basic (or essential) first aid certificate (required before you undertake the first out phase of the Constable Development Program)
  • Plus any other information that could help your application.

  • Do not include the original copy of any documents with your application, but these will need to be seen during the selection process
