Coping with the pressures of work, family and general life is not always easy, particularly in an environment that can present a variety of challenges. However we’re committed to ensuring your wellbeing throughout your career and provide a number of services to support you:
Mentors
Field tutors are available to assist you during your Cadetship in your work-based training, on police patrols and in police stations. For the first six months of your probationary period you’ll also have the support of a Field Tutor and Probationary Constable Coordinators in Local Service Areas are always on hand to offer you advice.
Counselling and welfare services
These services can help you with:
- Workplace concerns
- Relationships
- Financial problems
- Bereavement
- Health
- Lifestyle
- Family issues
- Trauma
- Drug and alcohol dependency
They also provide support in the event that you are exposed to a life-threatening and/or macabre situation or other traumatic incidents.
Chaplaincy
If required a non-denominational chaplaincy service is available to look after your spiritual welfare and that of your immediate family.
